Activated carbon filters are used to treat water having abnormal taste, odour and color. Raw water is passed through activated carbon where due to adsorption properties of charcoal, contaminants related to the taste, color and odour are removed. Activated carbon filters find their applications in the drinking water filtration system, in process industries where water is to be pre filtered for further chemical treatment such as softening, demineralizing and reverse osmosis.
Activated carbon filters are mostly constructed from Mild Steel.
